Policies and Fees

We accept e-transfer, credit card, and many insurance plans. 

At this time we can direct bill Medavie Blue Cross and Veterans Affairs Canada, and most other major insurance plans allow clients to be reimbursed for counselling/psychotherapy services. We recommend that you contact your plan administrator or insurance provider to verify that they provide coverage for psychotherapy or counselling provided by a Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate) based in the province of Nova Scotia. Clients are responsible for verifying their coverage and for any charges not covered by insurance.

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists’ day that could have been filled by another client. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Clients who provide less than 24 hours notice or miss their appointment will be billed the session fee.

Arborvitae Counselling Therapy does not provide emergency crisis mental health services. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency please go to your closest emergency room or utilize one of the following mental health crisis services:
